888poker has revealed that, following the success of its Super XL Series, it will be running a trio of online poker tournament festivals over the following twelve months.

The $7.5 million guaranteed XL Inferno Championships is the first of the festivals and kicks off on Sunday, 7th May 2017.  This will be followed by the XL Eclipse Championships that is scheduled to be held in September and the finale – the XL Blizzard Championships early next year.

With a huge schedule of 197 events, the XL Inferno Championships is the largest ever series in terms of total events.  It will also be 888poker’s richest online series with a whopping $7.5 million guaranteed which is a 50 percent increase over any of its previous Super XL Series.

The XL Inferno Championships will begin with a $109 XL Inferno edition of the Sunday Lightning with a guaranteed prize pool of $30,000 that will be followed by a $300,000 guaranteed event later that day at a cost of only $160 to enter.

Three of the tournaments that are due to take place on Tuesday, 16th May 2017, namely the $100K Mini Super High Roller, the $10,000 Turbo and the $1,500,000 Million Main Event are special tournaments that will help the “Raising for Effective Giving” (REG) and “Global Poverty Charity Portfolio”.  888poker will donate all fees from the above three tournaments, which is a fantastic way to contribute to worthy causes without affecting the tournament’s prize pool.

Included in the XL Inferno Championships schedule is a Champion of Champions event.   Only those who won one of the 197 XDL Inferno Championships tournaments are eligible to enter this special event.

A 2017 World Series of Poker Main Event package will be awarded to the winner of the Champion of Champions event while the runner-up will be given a Crazy8s WSOP Side Event package and a $1,050 Main Event Qualifier ticket and the player coming third will receive a Crazy8s WSOP Side Event package.

The fifth and fourth placed players will receive a $600 tournament ticket while those finishing from sixth to fortieth will receive a $55 tournament ticket.
