888Live Festival Barcelona Due to Attract the Stars
This was published 06-05-2017The last installment of 888poker’s popular and value-packed 888Live Festival will be held in Barcelona for 12 days of poker between Thursday, 11th and Monday, 22nd May 2017.
The festival offers a total guaranteed prize pool of over €700,000 and is due to take place at “Gran Casino de Barcelona” shortly after the completion of the 888Live Kings Festival in Rozvadov.
As predicted, the Main Event, High Roller and probably a number of the higher buy-in side events, are attracting the attention of some of poker’s elite.
Amongst those who are expected to attend the festival are Cate Hall as well as trash talking William Kassouf, high stakes cash game guru Patrik Antonius and the man known as The Grinder”, Michal Mizrachi. Several members of Team 888 will also be heading to Barcelona for the festival, including 888poker Ambassadors Kawra Scott, Bruno Kawauti, Bruno “Foster” Politano, three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Dominik Nitsche, Sofia Lovgren, Nicolau Villa Lobos and Natalie Hof.
Players are being offered qualifiers to the Main Event and the Opening event with a $30 buy-in and a $12 buy-in, respectively by 888poker and also have an opportunity to win their way into the festival satellite tournaments with buy-ins of a mere $0.01.
888poker revealed that before the festival commenced in October of 2016, the average live prize pool for a Main Event was $55,412. The festival kicked off with the 888Live Festival in London offering a $250,000 guaranteed pool and has since then grown considerably, ensuring a guaranteed pool of at least $500,000 in this month’s festival in Barcelona.
Catalin Pop won the 888Live Main Event in the latest festival that was held in Rozvadov, granting him a seat in the Barcelona tournament. Pop has revealed that he is hoping to walk away with the title, but has advised other hopeful players to “have patience, be aggressive and not be afraid to bust”.
Although there is more than enough poker action at the 888Live Festival Barcelona there will also be two major sporting events taking place in Barcelona during 888poker’s visit. The legendary FC Barcelona soccer team will be hosting Las Palmas on 14th May and the Spanish F1 Grand Prix is being held between 12th and 24th May 2017.
