British Pro JamieBurland Explains Vegas’ Best-Kept Secret

Although every player has a different method of taking on the World Series of Poker, building a bankroll for the tournament schedule that grows every year is an all-round project for most players

British player and Bearhug Poker Pro Jamie Burland plays in the lucrative Sit ‘n’ Go Satellites in order to add to his chances.  The satellites only reward the eventual victor in a 10-man winner-take-all format, with the satellites paying players in the famous $500 “lammers” that can be converted into tournament buy-ins at the World Series.  Burland, together with a vast number of players, supplement their outlay by triumphing in the format.

Burland has taken time out from his one-table strategizing to let players in on the best way to take them down.

According to Burland, for any players out here, the Sit n Go “Pit” is Vegas’ best-kept secret.  He also said that his old mentor Neil Channing absolutely swore by these games as he was right in this little corner of the Rio Pavillion that was full of guys who sat and played them all summer.  He added that these are winner-take-all 10-seat satellites and they are looking for “lammers’ which are $500 big chunky chips that cannot be exchanged for cash but can be used to buy-in for tournaments.  Those left with a bunch of “lammers” at the end of the trip can sell them in the Main Event queue.

Burland went on to say that taking part in a story of ten players playing down to one and getting used to that feeling, builds a little final table experience.

Burland is not the only player taking advantage of one of the best ways to reduce variance in bracelet event buy-ins while playing poker that is in the spirit of Las Vegas in the truest sent of the phrase.   It is possible that the Main Event winner could crawl out of the pit to rise highest of all in less than a fortnight.
