New MEGASTACK Live Tournament Series Announced by PokerStars

In a month full of live poker action in the United Kingdom, players will find room for one more. PokerStars recently announced that it would be rolling out new a new MEGASTACK tournament series that will debut at the PokerStars LIVE in London at the Hippodrome Casino. The dates of the tournament are April 7th to April 9th.

The MEGASTACK tournament is aimed at recreational poker players with features such as flexible schedules, smaller buy-ins and a big starting stack.

It will cost GBP 170 to buy in to the series, and players will be given 50,000 in chips. There will be three opening flights in the series, and each flight will allow one re-entry.

“While we highlighted some of the big events coming up this month, we’re also glad to concentrate on the other end of the poker spectrum, with a series of smaller grassroots tournaments aimed at recreational players looking not only for a great live poker experience, but that first step up in their poker career towards PokerStars Championships and Festivals,” notes PokerStars in its popular blog.

Following the April MEGASTACK tournament series, more dates have already been set for follow-up tournaments at Hippodrome Casino.

These are:

  • May 5th – 7th
  • June 30th – July 2nd,
  • September 22nd – 24th
  • October  20th – 22nd

In addition, the MEGASTACK tournaments will also take place at a number of European destinations at live PokerStars events. The online poker giant said that it would publish the dates and locations of the European events as soon as they become available.

It will be possible to qualify for all the events through PokerStars satellites online.

“We know it’s not always easy to find the time to play live tournaments, with one eye on your straight draw and the other on the clock as you try to work out if you can make it to work on 45 minutes sleep,” reads the blog. “That’s why MEGASTACK events are designed to fit your schedule rather than that of your boss, taking place from Friday to Sunday, leaving you all the time you need to enjoy the game.”

PokerStars explains that players will playing in the “confines of London’s premier poker destination.”

“You might not be able to play football at Wembley, or Rugby on the turf at Twickenham, but you can play in poker’s equivalent, enjoying the same surroundings as the high rollers for a small taste of what it’s like to compete in one of poker’s most prestigious arenas.”
