The Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino’s third-ever $1,000,000 buy-in Big One for ONE DROP is only a month away and there are currently just 18 seats remaining.  Thirty players have, therefore, committed to playing which includes 22 professional poker players and 8 businessmen.

This year’s biggest buy-in tournament in the world, which is rake free and is held over three days, is scheduled to begin on 15th July 2018, marking the last day of the 2018 World Series of Poker.  The event will be televised by ESPN2 on 16th and 17th July and will also be live-streamed on PokerGo.

Eight per cent of the $1 million buy-ins will go to the ONE DROP Foundation, which provides access to safe water to people around the world.  An amount of $92,000 will, therefore, go directly to the prize pool which will be $44,160,000 if it hits the 48 player cap.  The tournament will also apply big blind antes and a shot clock.

Among those confirmed are a number of first timers that include Nick Petrangelo, Dominik Nitsche, Jason Koon, Bryn Kenney, Rainer Kempe, Steffen “Goose” Sontheimer and Adrian Mateos.

Those players who are unable to pay the seven-figure buy-in will have an opportunity to win their way in via satellites at the World Series of Poker on 14th July 2018.  There will be a $10,300 mega satellite at Noon that will feed into a $100,500 satellite at 6 p.m.

Jack Effel, Tournament Director at the World Series of Poker, commented that a charity poker tournament that could have such an impact is simply astonishing.  He added that since 2012, through 15 tournaments and player donations, over 12,000 individuals have contributed to raising over $20 million for the cause of access to safe water.  He also said that this has had an incredible impact on the lives of over 170,000 people in need and that both from the poker and humanitarian aspects, the whole poker community and them at WSOP are lucky to be a part of this.

The Big One for ONE DROP tournament is reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.  Those who provide a deposit will have their seat guaranteed until 10th July 2018.
