Cake Poker Summary

Cake Poker started off as a single poker site but has grown to become the leading site on their proprietary network, the Cake Network. The software is very different from many of the other sites out there and is a favourite by many poker players. One of the coolest things at Cake is their player rewards system. You can collect gold cards which are randomly given out to players at tables to be eligible for some amazing prizes in addition to a regular points reward system. Since it is also one of the few USA friendly rooms, they also get a lot of traffic!

Cake Poker Summary

Cake Poker LogoCake Poker is one of the newest poker rooms showing a steady growth thanks to one of the best player rewards programs you will find online. They may be a small room in comparison to others but this hasn’t stopped from giving players large guaranteed tournaments, promotions packed with seats to live events and most recently hosting $100,000 freerolls each month. Cake Poker is one of the up and comers in online poker. They are also one of the few rooms that still accept US players. Cake Poker is owned by Cake Gaming N.V located in Costa Rica.

Cake Poker Gold Chips

Cake Poker has literally taken the standard VIP player rewards program and flipped it into something that goes above the standard system. In this room you are rewarded by playing any of the real money games earning you frequent player points which provide you with Gold Chips. Gold Chips can be redeemed for extra tournaments or other events held at Cake Poker as well as the online store.

Cake Poker Gold Cards

The other part of this program is the Gold Cards which have become a huge hit for this company. Earning a Gold Card may not seem that big of a deal till you see just how valuable these rewards actually are. Each Gold Card is as valuable as real money. You can use these cards to enter daily freerolls, collect them and redeem in the Daily Lotteries, or better yet collect the entire series for a prize valued at $52,000. Gold Cards are only awarded to players who play in the real money ring games. Gold Cards are distributed based on rake collected from the ring games. Once the rake has reached a fixed amount the RNG will release a card to a player at the table randomly. Each card has a different value based on how rare it is.

Ring Games

Cake Poker supports your standard ring games with Texas Holdem, Omaha, and Omaha Hi Lo. They do list Stud in the game lobby but have yet initiated any games. The room is still developing their player base and for the most part have done a great job. During peak hours Cake Poker attracts over 1100 real money players with the majority of the focus aimed at the Holdem tables. The stakes begin at the $0.10/$0.20 and moving up to $100/$200

Tournaments

The tournament line up is probably one of the best features here next to the rewards program. Partly due to the large guaranteed tournaments and the other benefit is the amount of overlays this site has on a consistent basis. They offer up some impressive promotions like the current “Million Dollar Freeroll Series” where the room is hosting a monthly $100,000 freeroll consecutively for 10 months. The player who manages to take down first place in this game will be walking away with $75,000 cash. Each month a new set of qualifiers will take place giving you a new chance to win your seat. The tournament schedule features all your typical games and formats with re-buys, freezeouts and guaranteed games scheduled daily and on the weekend you can enter into the $50,000 GP with qualifiers available each day. The Sit and Go tournaments are available with a wide range of buyins but you will have to wait a while for most games to fill.

Software

The software is provided by the Cake Network which means you will be playing with players on other rooms. This provides you with a steady flow of traffic and will keep most tables active throughout the day. The graphics offer no extra features but do provide a clean look and feel throughout the room. Lobby statistics are available within the menu and include your vital statistics such as viewed flop percentage, hands per hour, player chip stack and average pot size. You will also be able to request your hand history and view table stats which are located in the chat window. Players should note – Cake Poker does not support 3rd party software for data mining such as Poker Tracker. All players will have an equal opportunity in this room. As far as speed and performance they have done a great job keeping the site running without any lags and they do update frequently.

Support

Support is available daily through email only and we have never had an issue with Cake Poker having any delays in responding. In fact it has been the opposite with the room replying to email usually within 10 minutes.

Payment Methods

Since Cake Poker allows US players, they also accept most credit cards. The current methods include: Visa/MasterCard, ePassport, Moneybookers
