Tapie Tournament Postponed Until 2013
This was published 18-05-2012Despite the fact that the French investment company Groupe Bernard Tapie, failed in their attempts to purchase Full Tilt Poker, the company is continuing with their plans to organize one of the largest poker tournaments ever.
Groupe Bernard Tapie was meant to have the inaugural tournament of the International Stadiums Poker Tour (ISPT) featuring a Euro 600 buy in at some time between August and October 2012.
The tournament was due to take place in Wembley Stadium inLondon, theUnited Kingdomand to have played out through online satellites before establishing the final 30,000 players at which point the survivors would meet at Wembley in order to continue the tournament by playing through their tablet computers in the stands. After the field was worked down to approximately 3,000 players they would hit the pitch at Wembley in order to play out the remainder of the tournament.
Groupe Bernard Tapie’s aim was to purchase Full Tilt Poker in order to have an online poker room to provide the satellites for the tournament but since Groupe Bernard Tapie have not been able to work out a deal with the U.S. Department of Justice for the purchase of Full Tilt Poker it does not have an online poker room.
It has, therefore, become necessary for Groupe Bernard Tapie to move forward with the International Stadiums Poker Tour without any online operation to channel the players.
The International Stadiums Poker Tour is now being postponed until May 31, 2013. Groupe Bernard Tapie is still expecting a huge number of players with plays for playing down to a champion and is offering a prize pool of approximately Euro 20 million with first place being paid out around Euro 10 million.
Laurent Tapie of Groupe Bernard Tapie said that the company is hopeful that this event will be remembered by all the participants and that it will break all records.
It is hoped that Groupe Bernard Tapie is able to bring the International Stadiums Poker Tour to life.
