Borris Becker, former tennis world number one six-time majors’ singles winner, is the latest celebrity to be signing up with Partypoker as a brand ambassador.

Partypoker has recently been busy recruiting sponsored professionals and ambassadors in an endeavor to reach into countries around the globe.  This year alone has seen partypoker sign Patrick Leonard, Roberto Romanello, Sam Trickett, Natalia Breviglieri, Jackie Glazier, Beata Jambrik and Joao Simao as ambassadors or sponsored pros, joining the renowned Mike Sexton, Tony Dunst and four-time world champion boxer Carl Frock on the online poker’s books.

Becker revealed how excited he was to sign for partypoker in a recent press release, wherein he stated that he is equally competitive at the poker table as he was on the tennis court, so is really excited to be partnering with partypoker and taking on players around the world.

Becker went on to say that he learnt to play poker a long time ago and that it is a game of skill and perseverance.  He added that he is, therefore, hoping to use his experience on the tennis court to his advantage.  He also said that partypoker has some world class tournaments coming up and he is eagerly looking forward to playing online as well as live at the partypoker MILLIONS in April.

Tom Waters, Group Head of partypoker, welcomed Becker to his team by saying that it is great to have him on board as he is one of Germany’s and indeed the world’s most notable sportsman.  Waters added that Boris’ mental strength and desire to win will make him a tough competitor at the poker table, and he is certain that he will test their players as part of the partypoker Tennis Missions promotion.  He also said that are trying to expand their poker offering in Germany for 2017 and he is absolutely thrilled that Boris will be their ambassador in this market.
