“The 8-Team” Launched by 888poker for 2017 WSOP
This was published 19-05-2017A team of poker players, known as “The 8-Team”, will be sent by 888poker, the official sponsor of the World Series of Poker, to the 2017 World Series of Poker. A lucky qualifier has a chance to become part of the team with an opportunity to fly the 888poker flag at the 2018 WSOP.
Five teams, each from a different country and featuring a team captain, a wing man as well as a qualifier will be selected to represent Germany, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Canada and Sweden at the upcoming 2017 WSOP Main Event. The longest lasting qualifier out of the five qualifiers will be awarded a value-packed package to the 2018 WSOP Main Event.
888poker have already chosen the captains while the wing men will be revealed within the next few weeks and the qualifiers are due to be chosen from everyone who qualifies for a 2017 WSOP Main Event package online at 888poker, which any player can participate in for as little as $0.01.
The captains that have been selected for the 8-Team are members of 888poker’s choice team of ambassadors.
Chris Moorman, who will be captaining the United Kingdom, has close to $15 million in online tournament winnings and $4.6 million from his live poker achievements. Moorman, a recognized winner is a player worthy of being the captain of any poker team.
Bruno “Foster” Politano, who has already enjoyed a taste of WSOP success, will captain Team Brazil. Politano finished in eighth-place in the 2014 WSOP Main Event, returning home with $947,172.
Parker Talbot, known as “Tonkaaaa” will be in charge of Team Canada. Talbot is endeavoring to win his first WSOP cash this summer.
Sofia Lovgren, will be leading Team Sweden and although primarily a cash game player, she is also no slouch in poker tournaments. Lovren played her way to 12th place in the Millionaire Maker event at the 2016 WSOP.
Dominik Nitsche, one of the most successful poker players of recent years will lead Germany. Nitsche has won three WSOP bracelets and over $6.5 million in live poker tournament winnings.
